This summer, the bsporty crew were walking down Island Street in Salcombe, Devon, on the hunt for ice creams when the boys spotted a sign outside a clothes shop that made them stop:

We have created swim shorts out of re-cycled plastic. Come in to find out more.’

So we did!

We met one of the owners in store called Mark (who was soon dragged away by the boys for a game of ball outside) and Anna, who we chatted to about the shorts and the Jam brand. We thought that the shorts were amazing. They look and feel great, have a brilliant design that was hand drawn by Andy and they are created from up cycled plastic bottles.

They have stores in Salcombe, Devon and Padstow, Cornwall and Dartmouth as well as a website where you can also buy their clothes and shorts. They don’t have kids’ swim short sizes yet but we hope they will soon.

Here is some information directly from Jam Industries and the links you need to check them out yourself.

As a brand with the ocean in our hearts we knew we had to think bigger when designing swimwear.

We have worked hard to create a fabric which is made using up cycled plastic bottles.

Ocean plastic is becoming a life changing problem to the global population and it’s important we do our bit. Not only are we upcycling waste and turning it into swim shorts but we are also raising money for the lobster hatchery in Padstow, Cornwall with our buy one set one free campaign... so if you’re going to buy some shorts, you’re actually contributing to an entire community, and better still, a community that really appreciates the support!
