IAPS’s Virtual Championships hosted by TED!
Sports:
The autumn virtual championships include the following sports:
Hockey
Football
Gymnastics - indoor activities
Health & Wellbeing – these activities can be done individually. They have been designed so that if you have bubbles isolating at home, they can take part in this round.
Each sport includes 5 activities (see below). Each activity is accompanied with an explanation as to how to complete it and how to score it. The activities have been kept as simple and fun as possible so that it is easy and fair to measure across schools.
Entries:
The virtual championships are school championships, not individual championships.
Each activity has been designed so that all ages and genders can have a go.
An unlimited number of children from your school can take part in each activity.
You can enter all sports or just one or two.
When entering a sport, you should complete all 5 activities within that sport e.g. if you enter Hockey, you should submit results for all 5 Hockey activities.
Scoring:
All participants will have their score counted towards the overall activity total.
Only one score per activity per participant (or pair) can count towards the activity total. e.g. Johnny can practice 5 times, on his 6th go his score will count.
For each activity, add together all participants scores to give a cumulative activity score.
Note the number of participants that have attempted each activity as this will be required for your average activity score.
Results:
The focus of these championships is about mass participation so whilst 1st, 2nd and 3rd places won’t be officially announced, we will recognise schools that have taken part.
How to enter:
Register your school online.
You will be sent a link to a google spreadsheet to submit your scores.
You have 4 weeks to try as many sports as possible and record your results.
You must nominate one member of staff to verify all results submitted. Please enter with the best intentions, this is for fun and not to win at all costs!
Enter your results on the google spreadsheet by Friday 4th December.
GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN!
