What a successful few weeks TED has had launching the very first IAPS virtual championships. TED launched the event at the start of November and so far over 70 schools have signed up to take part, including schools in France, Holland, Kenya and Turkey - that is more than we ever imagined!

We know that the motivation to stay active can be hard at the moment, especially during the winter months when the nights are dark and cold! The aim of the virtual championships is to combat that by encouraging as many of you as possible to have fun whilst moving your body.

In line with the sports that we usually hold during the autumn term, the virtual championships include activities in the following sports:

  • Hockey

  • Football

  • Gymnastics (indoor activities)

  • Health & Wellbeing – these activities can be done individually. They have been designed so that even if you are at home, you can still take part!

We have loved seeing pictures and videos of schools attempting the activities and are sharing them all on our Twitter and Instagram accounts – go check them out!

The competition is FREE to enter and full details are available on our website here. If you’d like to take part, speak with your PE teachers today and ask whether your school can get involved!
