Bobsleigh and Skeleton

Team GB have been having an incredible amount of success in the European Championships and World Cup.

In Bobsleigh, the men’s 4 man Bobsleigh team containing Brad Hall, Taylor Lawrence, Greg Cackett and Arran Gulliver won Gold at the European Championship! They are the first British Bobsleigh team in the history of the sport to win the European Championships and they beat the Olympic and World Champion German team into second place. Arran Gulliver had only started this sport in October and so this was an even greater achievement to be part of such a successful team so quickly.

In Para Bobsleigh, Corie Mapp won European silver. A double amputee following his time in Afghanistan serving with the British Army, this was an incredible achievement for Mapp.

In the skeleton event, Matt Weston won Gold in the men’s Skeleton event and GB won silver and bronze in the mixed skeleton competition at the European Championships. Matt Weston and Laura Deas won silver and Craig Thompson and Brogan Crowley won bronze.

The competitions continue into February and so we will update you in our next edition.
