Our last article on Golf was in August 2019, issue 3 of the magazine. That article told you about how to get started with this great sport and about the Girls Golf Rocks campaign. As well as including lots of great videos and an interview with a young golfer Jessie Sheridan.

SharpShooters Junior Golf Academy at Golf World Stansted
Here at SharpShooters, at Golf World Stansted in Essex, it’s our mission to provide juniors of all abilities and ages the very best pathway in junior golf.
We believe that golf is a sport for every child and can teach vital life skill lessons through teamwork and self progression.
Starting in 2015 with just 30 juniors we have grown our junior golf academy to 300 juniors in weekly lessons here at SharpShooters Golf World Stansted. Our Academy includes all abilities and ages of junior golfer
Schools
We regularly attend primary schools in the local area offering free taster sessions. In 2019 we offered free golf in schools to over 2000 children. We then offer several free sessions at the golf club to give the children the opportunity to come along, make friends and start to enjoy the experience of golf in a club setting. From then, if they choose to continue their golfing journey with us, we offer a space in our academy. We run 28 classes a week for children age 4-16 and hence have the availability to provide a class that is the perfect fit for every child.
5 Play Day Events
The opportunity to play competitive golf, we feel, should be open to any child wishing to do so. We run 5 Play Day events every season with juniors playing on both our academy course and main course, from blue tees and main tees. Some 60 children attend these events and they have become a highlight in our golfing calendar. With different formats at each event the juniors also get a taste of county golf and beyond!
SharpShooters Tour
Our newly launched SharpShooters Tour is also an exciting addition to competitive golf, providing the opportunity to not only play at different courses, but to experience different clubhouses and to also lower handicaps.
SharpShooter Skills book
Our SharpShooter programme is supported by our SharpShooter Skills book. The book tracks the junior’s progress and is signed off by not only the coach but also the juniors themselves and their parents. It’s also not only golf skills that we teach, but also scoring, scorecards, etiquette and rules also play a huge part in developing knowledgeable junior golfers.
