Sports Success and Opportunities
Millfield students take part in a vast variety of sports at least once every day
Prep Sports
Senior Sports
There are around 60 international youth representatives as pupils at any one time at the school and there are 60 regular teams for 7-13 year olds.
Students are offered 3.5 hours of P.E, games or individual sports a week.
However, it’s not just about succeeding at sport at a young age. The school specifically designs the sports teams and programmes in the understanding that although some students develop their sporting talents early, others take longer to reach their full potential. There is, therefore, sport for all at every level.
Current students are succeeding at a variety of sports. Jen Sykes has been selected by British Cycling for the regional development squad in sprint cycling.
Seventeen-year-old Jen joined Millfield on a scholarship in Year 9 and now in Upper Sixth studying for three A levels in Business Studies, Media Studies and Physical Education. As well as cycling, Jen plays hockey and netball for Millfield.
Past Millfield students include England rugby stars Jonathan Joseph and Mako Vanipola who we all saw at the Rugby World Cup this year.
Sport at Millfield provides vital skills for the future
The majority of students won’t go on to be international sports starts or professionals but the skills they learn through sport at Millfield will help them to achieve in whichever career they choose. Skills such as confidence, self awareness, adaptability and team work.

Or, why not have a look at their holiday courses at https://www.millfieldenterprises.com/millfield-holiday-courses-all.php .
There is a ‘range of junior courses for children aged 2-17, with a number of specific sports courses on offer, as well as something for those who want to try a mixture of different sports and activities.’
Kit for the Future
Did you know that Millfield is 'launching its own brand of student and staff sports kit made from recycled fabrics that reuse plastics retrieved from the ocean.
The new range uses recycled fabrics which incorporate plastic ocean debris such as fishing nets and bottles and turn it into high performance sportswear.'
We think this is incredible. Well done Millfield!
