Vitality Netball World Cup 2023
The Vitality Netball World Cup starts this month!
From 28th July - 6th August, Cape Town, South Africa, hosts 16 teams hoping to win the top prize in netball.
Liverpool hosted the last World Cup in 2019 which was won by New Zealand. Australia came second and England won bronze. England also won the bronze medal in 2015 and 2011 and so will definitely be hoping to change the statistics this summer.
Teams competing
We are extremely excited to see a grand total of three home nation teams taking part in the World Cup: England, Wales and Scotland, alongside South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Barbados, Jamaica, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malawi, Uganda, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago and Zimbabwe.
The England squad, nicknamed the Roses, are ranked 3rd and the players are as follows:
The Scotland squad are 10th in the World and known as the Thistles:
The Wales squad are currently 9th in the World and called the Feathers:
