New Sports at the Olympics
This year there are several new sports appearing at the Olympics.
Sport Climbing
This new event is divided into speed climbing, bouldering and lead (where you have to climb as high as you can!). We featured an article on climbing at Berrymede School earlier this year - perhaps their climbing wall will inspire some future Sport Climbing Olympians!
Surfing
This is the first time surfing has featured as a sport at the Olympics. If you search by sport on this magazine you will find lots of previous articles to inspire you to surf. Here’s a video from Surfing England on the Adaptive Surfing Open - an incredible event.
Skateboarding
Sky Brown, aged 12 and Bombette Martin, aged 14 will be representing Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics!
Karate
Another new sport appearing at the Olympics for the first time is Karate!
Baseball/Softball
We are a huge fan of baseball and softball at bsporty and there are lots of articles on the magazine for you to get inspired by. This is the first time the sport has appeared at the Olympics and we are very excited!
