Return to Competitive Grassroots Football

The FA has just announced that competitive football can begin again for your age group. If you and your parents are happy to start playing again then you’ll need to support new measures and arrangements that make a return possible and to keep you safe. Your club, coaches and parents will explain these to you but here’s how you can help.

  1. Where possible arrive at the football match already changed and leave in your kit after the match. That way you won’t need to go into the changing rooms.

  2. Sanitise your hands when you arrive at the ground, at half time and as you leave where possible.

  3. Use your own kit – don’t share goalie gloves or football shirts until they have been washed between uses.

  4. Cut out the goal celebrations – you know you scored and so do your team mates – hugging and high fives or rolling across the floor aren’t needed!

  5. Handle the ball as little as you can.

  6. Don’t share water bottles.

  7. Family and friends can come and watch you. They just need to stand socially distanced from other spectators.

  8. No indoor football is allowed yet.

Make sure your parents or carers read it and the information your clubs will send out to them.

Enjoy playing football again!!
