Rugby Six Nations Lowdown

The Six Nations competition is well underway, at the time of writing we are currently moving into round three of the five round tournament.

Currently, France is top of the table as a result of winning two matches first against Italy, and then against Ireland.

Interestingly, this month a story broke in the Daily Mail which suggested Italy would be removed from the Six Nations tournament and be replaced with South Africa, however, the Six Nations have since said this is not going to happen.

Round one

In a shocking result for English fans, Scotland defeated the English side 20-17 at Murrayfield stadium, which meant that Scotland retained the Calcutta Cup.

Ireland came out hot to defeat Wales 29-7, whilst France beat Italy 37-10.

Round two

The English squad came back with a bang in round two, beating Italy 33 – 0. In our last issue, we told you to look out for Marcus Smith, and that shouldn’t have been too difficult based on his performance that match, he was everywhere!

Wales also got the wind back in their sales, beating Scotland 20-17 in a tight game at the Principality stadium. Did you know, 73,782 fans watched the match live at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff! Where you one of them?

France yet again came out on top, beating Ireland 30 – 24 at the Stade de France in Paris.

We can’t wait for the fun to continue in this tournament and are really excited to be following it closely here at bspoty.
