Six Nations Players to Watch
The men’s Six Nations rugby tournament takes place each year between (you guessed it) six different rugby teams. Last year, Wales won the competition, but this year it’s all to play for! We here at bsporty have put a few key players together for you to watch out for this year.
Who should you be looking out for?
Marcus Smith (England)
Marcus is only 22 years old and has already represented England five times! He is certainly on our watch list this year, after having a stormer of a career so far. He even got called up to represent the British and Irish Lions last year, which just shows how much of a great player he is.
Louis Rees-Zammit (Wales)
Louis Rees-Zammit, also known as LRZ for short, is a Welsh rugby union player who currently plays for Gloucester in the Gallagher Premiership. He is a try scoring machine and is well known for his fast pace and twinkle-toes approach to the game. If you are short for inspiration or want to know how much rugby means to him, watch the video below where he first found out he was going to be involved in the British and Irish Lions last year!
Andy Christie (Scotland)
Andy plays back row for Saracens. You might be wondering why he isn’t playing for England; this is because he qualifies to play for Scotland as his grandmother is from Glasgow. At the young age of 22, Andy has already achieved so much in his rugby journey, and we are really excited to watch him play! To see what it meant to Andy and his family to make it onto the Scotland Six Nations squad, take a peek at the heart-warming video below:
Bevan Rodd (England)
Bevan is a 21-year-old Prop who plays at club level for Sale Sharks, he was first called up for his international cap for England in last year’s summer Tests against USA and Canada. We certainly have our eye on him this year, as he has been named as part of the England Six Nations squad.
For those wanting another slice of the rugby action, don’t forget that this year the women’s Six Nations tournament will be played separately from the men’s and will kick off on Saturday 26th of March.
