Although GB are strong in the skiing competitions at the Winter Youth Olympics, they don’t have any snowboarders in the competition. So perhaps one of you will be our next GB hope for the next Olympics like Dusty Hendrickson from the USA ?

Not having snow, or many skiable mountains, Team GB has to work that bit harder than other nations to achieve the top medals. However, thanks to forward thinking, planning and Lottery funding, the future looks positive for the up and coming snowboarders.

There’s a big crossover from the skills you learn as a skateboarder (see our December edition) and snowboarding so if you are a talented skateboarder and also love the idea of tricks on the snow why not head down to your local indoor ski slope? One day you might get to have a go at this….
