Most parks have a basketball net. A large number have small courts as well. Even though you have seen the nets and the courts, have you given basketball a try yourself yet? Watch this skills video to help to improve your game.

It’s a great sport for speed, agility and hand/eye coordination. Bouncing a ball whilst running. Dodging past your friends to get close to the hoop then shooting to score. It’s a fun way to get together with your friends on a weekend and it keeps you healthy.

There’s also a section to choose other ways you might like to join in with the game. You might want to play, coach, officiate or volunteer. There’s a section for all of these areas of involvement. 

Aged 7-11 look out for Slam Jam. This is a way to introduce your age group to basketball in a safe and fun way. It can be run in schools or in clubs. Why not ask your teachers to set up a Slam Jam session in P.E?
