Breakfast Smoothie
Breakfast is such an important meal, especially for children and young people. Research has shown that children who skip breakfast do less well academically, have lower attention spans and are less alert that those who have breakfast in the mornings. Eating breakfast improves problem-solving abilities, has an incredible effect on memory and concentration levels also improve.
Preparation time: 4 minutes
Ingredients
100ml milk
1 banana
1 handful of blueberries
1 tbsp oats
1 tsp of honey
Method
1. Peel the banana and chop into pieces
2. Add the banana, blueberries and oats into a blender or smoothie maker container
3. Drizzle over the honey and pour in the milk
4. Blitz it all together and enjoy
This breakfast smoothie is so quick and easy to make, you'll never miss breakfast again! It contains slow release carbohydrates in the form of oats and has a large amount of natural sugar from the fruit and honey to perk you up in the mornings and keep you going until lunchtime.
