Karting
If you visit www.kartinguk.org then you will find out about getting started in karting for your age group. There’s a ‘find a kart centre’ as well as ‘find a kart club’ section so just put in your postcode and find one near you.
It’s the British Kart Championships at the moment and this month there are competitions in three different categories.
1.Rotax: Mini Max (11-15) and Junior Rotax (13-17) are both taking place at the Glan-y-Gors track in Conwy 20-21 July.

2. IAME Cumbria Kart Racing Club at Rowrah Cumbria 12-14 July. Cadet 11-12 year olds, Mini X30 11-14 year olds and Junior X30 14-16 year olds. This track is in a disused quarry. Shenington Kart Racing Club offers taster sessions for youngsters aged from 6 years old to about 13 or 14 (depends on height for the junior karts), the next one is on the morning of 31 July. Book with Graham Smith, tel 01926 812177, cost for the taster on a race kart is £25.
