How to make the most of your ski trip with the kids

Located in the French Alps and part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine is the perfect destination to enjoy a family ski holiday with something for everyone. Although a large town, it also has a friendly village feel with traditional alpine charm.

Read on to find out how to make the most of your ski trip with the kids…

Ski or snowboard lessons

Ski or snowboard lessons are a great idea for all levels of ability, especially children and beginners. Ski school will help to find your ski legs and improve skills and confidence on the mountain. When you stay with Morgan Jupe, they will help to organise your ski lessons with high-quality instructors and even have your ski hire brought right to the comfort of your chalet, so you can avoid tantrums in the ski shop at the start of your holiday!

Ski lessons are also very fun, especially when you join a group! Many of the ski schools around Morzine will host exciting competitions at the end of the week which are always a hit amongst the kids!

A variety of slopes

Morzine is the perfect resort to learn to ski due to its excellent facilities. A great example of this is the notorious ‘Pleney Magic Carpet’ which easily takes beginners to the top of the green slope, where parents can also watch if they want to.

Throughout Morzine, Les Gets and the rest of the Portes du Soleil, there are a variety of pistes for all levels of ability. Once your skiing has improved on the beginner slope, your ski instructor can take you further afield to a little steeper terrain.

For those who are already at an advanced level, the Portes du Soleil actually offers 650km of pistes and 197 lifts so every day will be a new adventure!

Other winter activities

If skiing or snowboarding simply isn’t your thing … snow worries! Whether you love to relax or you’re a true adrenaline junkie, no matter how you choose to spend your winter holiday there are many non-skiing activities for you and your family to enjoy during your stay in Morzine.

Our favourites include ice-skating, tobogganing and husky sledding. If you have small children there is a carousel right next to the ice skating rink in the very center of town which the little ones always love.
