The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship
Qualifying has begun for The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship - golf’s ‘Junior Major’ that has been running for nearly 40 years! In 2022, over 18,500 entrants played at Junior Opens at over 500 venues throughout the UK. Last year’s finals saw two incredibly worthy winners in Sophia Fullbrook and Dylan Shaw-Radford.
The Championship is open to all junior U18 golfers (as at 1st January) and we urge juniors to get involved and enter a qualifying competition this year. The closing date for qualifiers is 4th September. The ultimate prize is a trip to Quinta do Lago, Portugal at the final for 12 boys and 12 girls who finish top of our leaderboards.
The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship is both about celebrating the very best golfers in the country and also about taking joy in everything that the great game of golf has to offer everybody, regardless of ability. In addition to the 24 finalists, we also offer six places to our ‘net winners’ to play during finals week too. These are our top six competitors from the national leaderboards (using handicaps) who also win the chance to come to the final for a 2 day trip with a chaperone.
Title sponsor Justin Rose, who won the event in 1997, is keen to see who will take part in the Championship this year and is looking forward to another exciting year with the quality of junior golf in the UK being at such an incredibly high standard. "I can’t wait to see the array of talent that is out there again this year and I know we are going to be crowning another very special couple of winners at the final in November. Good luck to all entrants for our 2022 event!"
