Who enjoyed watching the surfing at the Olympics? We did! It was the first time surfing had featured at the Olympic Games and we think it was incredibly inspiring.

If you thought so too and want to give surfing a try, why don't you check out The Wave near Bristol?

It's also a fantastic place to keep developing your surfing skills all year round.

We spoke to the team at The Wave and this is what they said:

"We have surfing lessons every day at 3 different levels; Beginner, Beginner Plus (Waikiki) and Intermediate.
Our lessons are open to anyone aged 6 and above who can swim 25 metres.

The lessons are held in small groups of no more than 8 per Instructor and they follow a format of 30 mins on land tuition followed by an hour in the water practicing.

The groups are a mix of Adults and Children and we like to think that our coaches do a great job of making the lessons really fun for everyone.

With it being Summer school holidays right now we have a high number of children learning and it's such a fantastic experience.

The kids get all the health benefits of being outdoors, in the water and being active plus they get a real confidence boost and a feeling of achievement as they learn to stand up and ride waves.

In October our prices reduce as well so a Child's beginner lesson can be booked for as little as £40.”

That means that if you want some October half term fun - it's definitely one to put on the list!
